Award-winning American hip hop star Nas, known in real life as Nasir Jones has got social media buzzing with a video that he spoke in a Ghanaian language.
In a video posted by TV3 teen presenter Samatime, Nas expressed appreciation for the chat with Samatime by saying “Medaase”, which means Thank you in Twi.
The local Ghanaian dialect expression by the legendary rapper has caught the interest of many Ghanaians with a lot of social media users showering accolades on him in the comment section.
Nas spoke the Twi word backstage when entertainment journalist Samatime12 stopped him for a chat at the just-ended Hip Hip at 50 concert in New York City, USA.
In addition to Nas, Samatime, real name Samara Osae Asare had interviews with other award-winning American musicians such as Lauryn Hill, Ice Cube, Ashanti among others.
